Abstract Propagating guided waves in a homogeneous, isotropic, prestressed, hyperelastic plate show nonlinear characteristics that depend on the state of initial prestress. These phenomena include higher harmonic generation, occurring when Lamb wave modes different frequencies ( $$\omega _a$$ ω a and _b$$ b ) are allowed to mix within material generating secondary at $$2\omega _a,2\omega _b\, \text {and}\,\omega _a\pm \omega 2 , and ± . Further, if prescribed internal-resonance conditions satisfied, amplitude increases space, providing response quantity which is dependent prestress easy be observed. Using finite element method, this paper we investigate time space evolution harmonics arising one-way mixing.
